New Lawn Installations Using Seed Or Sod
Top reasons we see that people need a new lawn.
New construction has you so excited to move in but the lawn is something else.
You’re existing lawn just isn’t cooperating.
It’s all about appearances and you need some curb appeal.
Your neighbors have an amazing yard and you are inspired.
An important event is coming up and you need a perfect lawn. Wedding? Holidays?
What you have now is an eye-sore
Step Away from the Sod! There is a lot to know about getting grass to properly take root and grow into a healthy, vibrant, lush green lawn. It’s not as simple as just laying down sod or throwing out some grass seed. There is a specific process that must be followed if you want the lawn to look amazing.
Prep work is the key to success. We specialize in installing new lawns for our residential and commercial clients using grass seed, installing new sod or even artificial turf or synthetic grass. We grade your property and lawn area allowing for proper drainage. We prepare your lawn area with proper loam soil or base. We then thoughtfully plan the installation of irrigation and sprinkler systems. We then spreading the grass seed or roll out the sod providing you with a carefully thought out beautiful looking new lawn.
But, our service doesn’t have to stop there. We want your yard to continually look its best. So, we highly recommend you jump on our weekly lawn care services and craft a plan to keep your investment green with seasonal care.
To SEED or not To SEED? Sod or no Sod?
These are valid question our customers want to know! Before we can answer we need to know some things from you:
- What exactly will your brand-new lawn be used for?
- What’s the budget? We need to know to get you the most bang for your buck.
- Are you under a time constraint?
- Do you have kids and pets that use the existing yard?
If you have kids or pets that frequently use and enjoy your lawn area then keeping them off the seeded area could be a problem. If that’s the case, sod is usually a better option but installing sod is more expensive than traditional grass seed. With a new sod lawn, you’re going to have a green lawn within a day or two and an even more beautiful lawn within a week or two of the installation. It will look like beautiful grass from day one but you’ll still see the visible lines from the sod being rolled out. It takes a week or two for the grass to blend sufficiently so you won’t notice it. With grass seed you’re looking at several weeks until you have a beautiful lawn.
If you’re on a time constraint, let’s say you’re hosting a big party or a special event like a wedding on your property and you need it look amazing for the big day, then sod is a much better, predictable option.
Next Steps in the Lawn Installation Process
After dozens and dozens of new lawns installs on new homes and property developments in the area , we are happy to get you started as well.
- The initial consultation. (Greet you and accurately measure your property)
- Assess the soil and look for drainage issues.
- Bring top soil in and spread as needed to ensure a level surface area.
- Is there existing irrigation? If not, we can do a sprinkler installed at the same time if you like. It is easier beforehand than dealing with it afterward.
- We then spread out your grass seed or roll out sod.
- Ta-da!!! Beautiful, lush green lawn!
This entire process can be completed in just 1-3 days. ( average sized lawns of course)
For larger residential lawns or commercial properties, the process can take longer but the end result is exactly the same. A beautiful super green lawn.
